Here’s another beginner’s bondage technique. That’s right, it’s not just for tying you or your lover up–you can also make gags and other fun toys out of it! Before you try this one out, make sure you and your partner have agreed on a safe-signal. This gag won’t prevent noise from being made, but it will make saying a safeword impossible, so pick some other kind of signal, like a gesture, you can make to slow things down or to stop entirely. Whoever isn’t gagged should keep a sharp eye out for the signal. Be safe, everyone!
Step 1: Begin with a piece of rope at least 5 feet long and 5/16” wide. A slightly thinner or thicker rope (ranging from 1/4” to 3/8”) will also work if that is what you have.
Step 2: Create an “S” shape with the rope, leaving about 2-3 feet of rope on the left side, and the longer section of rope to the right. The length of the “S” shape will determine the length of your bit gag; make it about 5 inches long.
Step 3: Taking the longer section of rope to the right, begin wrapping it tightly around the “S”, leaving a small loop at the end unwrapped that is just big enough to stick the rope through (don’t stick it through yet, though!).
Step 4: Continue wrapping the long end of the rope around the middle until you’ve reached the left side. At this point there should be a small loop sticking out of both sides, and both rope ends will be on the left side.
Step 5: Pull the long end of the rope through the loop on the left side and begin wrapping it toward the right-hand side to form another layer of rope.
Step 6: Wrap all the way down to the other end and pull the end of the rope through the small loop that was left.
Step 7: Pull on the two ends of the rope to tighten it and adjust as needed. To use the gag, tie the two ends of the rope in a bow in the back of the head. Make sure to use a shoelace knot or other fast-untying knot so you can get the gag off quick in case of an emergency!
